Welcome Back, Everyone!

I hope you have enjoyed the best of the season wherever you are around the world.

And I want to welcome all of our NEW subscribers who are joining us for the first time.

Thank you again for subscribing!

This woman of a certain age has had a busy summer travelling to Paris, Nice, with a trip across the French border  to Italy.  Then it was off to Belgium and Holland.

All of which I plan to write about in the coming months with a new blog every second Sunday!

Paris Photoshoot/Photographers-paris.com

I’ll start with Paris, of course, where with every trip I make I fall in love all over again!

I actually indulged in a Photoshoot with a professional photographer to commemorate this trip.

My first time ever in Paris.

That’s when I discovered the very best, and I do mean the very best spot in Paris to pose for pictures of one’s self

or with friends, family, and your true love.

This lookout point juts out in the middle of the Pont Bir-Hakeim

Paris Photoshoot/What could be more romantic?

This prime location is in the middle of a bridge that crosses the Seine.

The bateaux mouches quietly sweep by below, their decks swelling with sightseers, awed by what we see in the

distance, close but also just far enough away from the tall and dignified backdrop of what is the iconic Eiffel

Tower.  It never ceases to thrill.

The spot is so special that people arrive in droves to pose there.

Some dress up for the occasion as this family did in their very Parisian outfits.

Paris Photoshoot/I wish I had thought of this!

Paris Photoshoot/The whole family got into the act!

We all cheered when one young man surprised his girlfriend (and us) by choosing the spot to propose.

Afterward, our Smartphones snapped away as the blushing bride showed off her diamond engagement ring.

Paris Photoshoot/It was a beautiful ring!

Paris Photoshoot/Ph0to by Liran Finzi

Then it was my turn to get some new shots for the upcoming season at WomanofaCertainAgeinParis.com.

For 250 euros, I hired seasoned photographer Liran Finzi from Photographers-paris.com.

That gave me an hour to pose for a number of different pictures for my blog, website, and workshop series.

It was plenty of time.

Liran took dozens of photos and I was allowed to select 30 of the best ones which is more than most

photographers will give you for their fee.

It’s hard to take a bad picture of Paris, but we are always a little harder on ourselves when we are the subject of

the photos, aren’t we?

I was nervous about it for sure, but I think it is important to do a reality check every once in a while and embrace

our age.

So I highly recommend that we document this exciting chapter of our lives with a professional photoshoot every

five years.

Paris is indeed the perfect place to do that.

What do you all think?

Where is this

Photographers Paradise?

It is on the bridge called the Pont de Bir-Hakeim formerly the Pont de Passy. It connects the 15th and 16th arrondissements.

You can easily reach it by taking Line 6 of the Paris Metro and getting off at the stop also named Bir-Hakeim.

And then it is a short walk to the Eiffel Tower from this location.

One of my loyal readers and followers Lynda Davis was so very kind to send me a little storybook that she put together through Amazon after her trip to Paris. (She also has a cool blog called Boomerbroadcast.net  for women of a certain age!)

Lynda decided to put this commemorative book together after doing a Paris Writing Retreat with organizer Gabrielle Luthy and fellow host Lisa Anselmo, author of one of my favourite Paris memoirs, My (Part-Time) Paris Life!

The cover of Lynda’s little book!

She designed it all herself.

Sadly her book is NOT for sale!

Such a great idea to do a professional photo shoot … daunting for anyone, especially as we aren’t 21 years old anymore , but fun ! The photographer was very photo worthy himself!!
The shots in iconic Parisian venues are terrific , and as always , you look fabulous ! ❤️

Glad to see you back again – summer was way too short (but then, it always is)!!!
Looking forward to reading more about your Parisian adventures!

Well there is still lots of summer left — but it does feel shorter every year. I hope you have enjoyed and so nice to have you back in my corner Gretchen! Thank you for the comment, Diana
